How we can help

Women’s Legal Service Queensland (WLSQ) is a community legal centre offering free legal assistance for women who need help with domestic and family violence, family separation or divorce matters, parenting, child safety matters, and the protection of counselling notes in sexual assault cases.

Initially, the best way for clients to contact us is by calling our Helpline on 1800 957 957. Our team of specially trained female intake officers can support them to make an appointment with a lawyer, if appropriate, or provide information about other services. The WLSQ Helpline is staffed Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 4:30pm.

WLSQ do not regularly represent clients in ongoing matters, but we do have several programs and specialised services clients may be eligible for. Our team will assess a client’s eligibility for our programs when they call our Helpline, when we receive their referral, or after a lawyer provides advice.

If you would like to refer a client for legal assistance, or you think they may be eligible for one of our programs or services please use the online or PDF referral form below.

You can find links to more information about our programs and referral options on this page.
