What is the evening drop-in legal clinic?
WLSQ provides a drop-in clinic for women to access free legal advice at our office in Annerley on Monday evenings from 5:30pm to 8:00pm.
Who can the evening drop-in legal clinic help?
Women in Queensland who can attend the WLSQ Annerley office in person and are seeking legal assistance in relation to domestic and family violence, family separation or divorce, parenting or child safety matters.
We cannot give advice in relation to counselling notes or temporary visas at the evening drop-in clinic. Clients who require advice on these matters should contact the WLSQ Helpline on 1800 957 957, 9:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
How can the evening drop-in legal clinic help?
When women attend the evening drop-in legal clinic they will be taken through the intake process. If they are eligible, a lawyer will provide them with legal advice, on the night.
How can services refer women to the evening drop-in legal clinic?
Services cannot provide warm referrals to the evening drop-in legal clinic. Women wishing to utilise the clinic should attend the clinic in person at the WLSQ Annerley office.
Please be aware that priority is given to urgent matters and to women experiencing immediate safety concerns. Women will be triaged when they arrive based on their circumstances. For the best chance at securing an appointment please advise them to arrive at 5:30pm and no later than 6:30pm.
