What is an HJP?
HJPs are partnerships with hospitals which connect women receiving medical help, who are experiencing domestic violence, with legal assistance in relation to domestic violence, family separation or divorce, parenting or child safety matters.
Women’s Legal Service Queensland (WLSQ) has HJPs with hospitals in southeast Queensland in the Brisbane, Logan, Redlands, Gold Coast and Moreton Bay regions.
Hospital social work staff or health practitioners can refer clients directly to WLSQ through the partnership.

Our lawyers are available to provide legal advice as well as some assistance with legal drafting and the preparation of legal documents.
How can services refer women to the WLSQ HJPs?
Warm referrals can be made by hospital staff and appointments will be made by the WLSQ team with the woman directly.
Women can also self-refer if they meet the criteria above:
