Work with us to help make a real difference

Women’s Legal Service Queensland (WLSQ) is a nationally recognised, leading and innovative not for profit organisation in Australia. We provide high quality legal and social support services to women, specialising in the areas of family law, domestic violence, child protection, financial abuse legal protection and sexual assault through our counselling notes protect program.

WLSQ is committed to a society where every woman:

  • can live free from violence and discrimination.
  • can tell her story, have it heard and respected, without judgement.
  • receives a just and equitable outcome from legal and social systems.

If you are interested in working at WLSQ, please browse available positions on Seek.

Volunteer with us

WLSQ provides free legal assistance to women in Queensland in the areas of domestic and family violence, family separation or divorce, parenting matters, child safety and if someone is trying to access counselling records in a sexual assault court matter.

The demand for WLSQ’s services is increasing and volunteer solicitors and barristers can assist WLSQ to provide quality legal services to women.

Legal volunteers can assist WLSQ by:

  • Providing telephone and face to face legal advice to our clients.
  • Providing internal training and continuing professional development to our staff and volunteers.
  • Representing our clients in court.

If you are a solicitor or barrister who is interested in volunteering with WLSQ, please register your interest.

It is a genuine occupational requirement for our volunteers providing face to face or telephone advice to be women.
